Nahigian Strategies Announces Growth of Transportation Practice with Addition of New Vice President, Communications George O’Connor
WASHINGTON – Nahigian Strategies (NS), an award-winning strategic communications and public relations firm, today announced that George O’Connor joined the firm as its newest Vice President of Communications.
“George brings a unique blend of experience having led policy and press relations in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and with trade associations,” said Keith Nahigian, Nahigian Strategies president and founder. “He is a significant addition to our team and has the background to provide our clients with a well-rounded and strategic perspective to drive media relations and strategic initiatives.”
Mr. O’Connor joins Nahigian Strategies after more than 12 years of experience in Washington. He has led press relations for the Plastics Industry Association, served as a political appointee in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Public Affairs, and served multiple Members of Congress in political, policy, and communications capacities.
In recognition for his communications leadership, Mr. O’Connor was honored for his distinguished service designing and managing public engagement throughout the COVID-19 health emergency while serving in the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was responsible for leading interagency coordination efforts with the Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services, among others, on behalf of the Department to ensure clear, consistent public health messaging to key transportation organizations and workforces including airline, maritime, rail, trucking and transit sectors.

Mr. O’Connor holds a BA in Philosophy from Villanova University and an MA in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University.
