Vice President

Location: Washington, DC


Nahigian Strategies, a fast growing public relations and communications firm, is
seeking to add a Vice President with experience leading public relations and
media relations campaigns to our team.


The Vice President will be responsible for leading the implementation of strategic external and internal communications and media campaign strategies on behalf of the firm’s commercial clients. Working in close collaboration with a Senior Vice President and managing a team of Account Managers and Digital Executives, the Vice President will drive robust communications campaigns intended to advance client needs, including, but not limited to, public policy objectives and media engagement. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage client engagements and be a knowledgeable resource on all facets related to the clients and issues associated with their public relations campaigns
  • Serve as an “on the record” spokesperson on behalf of the client
  • Oversee the production of messaging strategies, presentations, media plans and media related materials, including press releases, media advisories, booking memos and talking points
  • Oversee the development of website content, graphics, info graphics, video scripts and social media content developed by the team’s Digital Account Executives
  • Develop and coordinate strategic integrated communications campaigns that include earned, owned and paid media components
  • Network with industry leaders, subject matter experts, clients and prospective clients;
  • Manage and contribute to the professional development of junior staff – Participate in client meetings and presentations – Participate and lead (as requested) weekly team meetings


  • Experience in either an agency or campaign setting in leading public relations engagements and driving high quality work, while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to juggle multiple shifting priorities while maintaining a high-quality work product in concert with long-term client and company goals
  • Understanding and creative guidance on utilization of new media technologies
  • Curiosity of intellect in furthering knowledge related to client campaigns and issue/policy areas – Ability to translate strategic thinking into action plans
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers, including leading a client-support team
  • Strong relationships with national and Washington DC media
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as strong organization, prioritization and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior management
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in experience and ability
  • 5 – 8 years of experience working in a communications, public affairs or public relations setting
  • Prior campaign experience preferred
