After a serious lobbying effort from a Burlington mom, a federal bipartisan bill is moving ahead to help legalize a marijuana-based supplement seen as a wonder drug for childhood seizures.

The bill before the Commerce Committee in Congress makes a federal correction that seems simple in comparison to the larger issues surrounding legalizing marijuana.

“It has nothing to do with medical marijuana. It’s not that issue. It’s a compelling case, so I agree to co-sponsor the bill,” U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., announced while speaking at Snap-on Inc. Thursday.
